Roger Severino, Currently serves in the Trump Administration as the Director of the Office for Civil Rights at the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

  • Son of immigrants from Colombia, grew up in in Southern California
  • Graduate of University of Southern California, Carnegie Mellon University and Harvard Law School
  • Most recently served as the Director of the DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society at The Heritage Foundation.
  • Accomplish trial lawyer at Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division where he enforced the Fair Housing Act, the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, and Title II and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
  • The media calls him the man behind President Trump's Religious-Freedom Agenda for Health Care. Severino led the effort to reverse Obama-administration policy that had redefined “sex” to include “gender identity” and “termination of pregnancy” for purposes of nondiscrimination under the Affordable Care Act. 
  • Created a new the new Division of Conscience and Religious Freedom division within Office of Civil Rights
