The North Carolina Values Coalition presents a special project called the Carolina Values Summit to equip you to resist growing attacks on religious freedom. We are honored to announce that Dr. Carol Swain will be joining us as a speaker. This former Vanderbilt University Professor was forced out by the cancel culture for expressing her Biblical views on Islam and Marxism.

This Christian leadership event is for Pastors, Christian Leaders, and Executive Directors of our state’s faith-based nonprofits, schools, and ministries.

Dr. Carol Swain, award-winning political scientist, political commentator and author, and a former professor of political science and professor of law at Vanderbilt University.

• Dr. Swain is an American success story. One of 12 children born in rural America. She dropped out of school after the 8^th grade. She later put herself through school and eventually became a successful university professor.
• Has a total of five degrees including a BA in Criminal Justice, a Masters in Law, a Doctorate in Political Science after studying at Virginia Tech, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Yale University.
• Was a tenured Professor at both Princeton and Vanderbilt Universities
• Dr. Swain has appeared on FOX News, CNN, ABC, PBS News Hour as well as opinion on pieces in numerous newspapers including the New York Times, Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
• Her commentary can be heard on her podcast and nationally on American Family Radio and Bott Radio.
• Dr. Swain has served on the Tennessee Advisory Committee to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission
• Author or editor of eight books including Abduction: How Liberalism Steals our Children’s Hearts and Minds and Debating Immigration
• Dr. Swain has run twice for Mayor of the City of Nashville, Tennessee
• After speaking out on dangers found within Islam, Vanderbilt University students protested and accused Dr. Swain of hate speech. On campus conditions deteriorated to the point that Dr. Swain eventually retired from teaching. 
• Swain has been outspoken critic of Black Lives Matter and has reiterated that the organization is rooted in Marxism
